Our Take
Our Experience with the Flair 58
The Flair 58 was our very first espresso maker, and while we originally bought it for us at home, we ended up using it at several pop-ups, serving hundreds of coffees back-to-back. At one point, we thought we might push it too hard and break it—but no chance! It’s a powerhouse. The coffee it produces is nothing short of spectacular. We’ve heard that Intelligentsia Espresso Bars in the US use Flair 58s for single brews and experimental coffees, and we're not surprised. There's so much we could say about this product's versatility, that we're probably going to have a multi page article about it pretty soon. Even our son David, could pull an amazing shot of espresso, it's that forgiving. We’ve sold many Flair 58s across Canada, and even though our previous online store, Gems of Alberta, is no longer live, it still ranks on the first page of Google across Canada. Remarkably, we’ve only had one come back for servicing. We highly recommend the Flair 58 to absolutely anyone serious about coffee at home or small businesses looking to up their coffee game.
About the Product
The Flair 58 Plus 2 is the ultimate manual lever espresso maker, designed for those who want full control over their brewing process in a compact, user-friendly package. This model builds on the highly regarded Flair 58, adding key upgrades for an even smoother experience:
Seamless Control: The preheat system controller is now embedded into the base, offering easy, intuitive adjustments.
Compact Power: The power supply has been significantly reduced in size, making it more portable and streamlined.
Simplified Workflow: The wiring has been optimized for ease of use, making setup and operation even more straightforward.
The Flair 58 Plus 2’s preheat system offers three levels—low, medium, and high—perfectly suited for different roast profiles. Whether you're brewing dark, medium, or light roasts, you can easily adjust the temperature for the best results. Plus, the Flair 58 Plus 2 is designed to unplug and brew wire-free, making it ideal for travel or when you need a quick setup.
With its precision valve plunger, this espresso maker ensures a smooth and efficient workflow, whether you're brewing a single shot for yourself or multiple for friends and family. While fully automated electric espresso makers can cost thousands, the Flair 58 Plus 2 might seem like a bigger investment upfront. But from our perspective, it’s actually the most cost-effective alternative to anything else out there—especially if you're serious about espresso. Whether you're already brewing espresso at home or just getting started, this espresso maker offers incredible value.
